Burzynski & Antineoplastons: The FDA Battle Over Experimental Cancer Treatment

Polish-born physician Stanislaw Burzynski developed an experimental cancer treatment called Antineoplastons, leading to decades of disputes with American medical regulators over its use, clinical testing, and approval.

From his clinic in Texas, Burzynski faced investigations, legal proceedings, and challenges from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Texas Medical Board. His patients testified before Congress, defending their access to the treatment and describing their experiences with cancer.

The controversy extended to the National Cancer Institute, pharmaceutical patents, and allegations of efforts to discredit Burzynski. While Burzynski and his supporters reported positive treatment outcomes, critics questioned the scientific evidence supporting Antineoplastons.

Through patient testimonies, archival news footage, and congressional hearings, the documentary presents Burzynski’s perspective on a prolonged dispute over experimental cancer treatments, medical regulation, and patient choice.
