FBI Special Agent Ryan Scott testified that Shannon Ryan purchased 39-gallon Hefty garbage bags, carpet deodorizer and duct tape at a Florida Walmart on July 26, 2020, one day after Leila Cavett was last seen. Scott later purchased the same items from the Walmart as “dummy” evidence because investigators were unable to recover the originals. Ryan is accused of killing Cavett, whose two-year-old son was found wandering alone the same day as the Walmart purchases, while Cavett’s body has never been found.
