Drones can be a lot of fun, but they can also be dangerous. The government can establish Temporary Flight Restrictions, or TFRs, around special events or sensitive locations to keep the public safe. Flying in these TFR areas isn’t just dangerous – it’s a federal crime.
Violations can result in criminal fines up to $100,000, up to a year in prison, and seizure of your drone.
Before you fly your drone, always check airspace restrictions using FAA-approved B4UFLY apps or visit tfr.faa.gov.
